Old soldiers’ farewell

Members of the once-secret 265th Radio Research Company and of C Troop, 2/17 Cavalry, 101st Airborne Division, offer a final salute to their comrade, Staff Sergeant Ed Keith, at Keith’s burial yesterday at Arlington National Cemetery outside Washington, DC. Keith, who was assigned to the 265th, was flying with C Troop over Laos in March 1971, when their helicopter was hit by enemy gunfire. Keith was severely wounded and lost a leg.     Maureen and I met Ed at the last reunion on an elevator
    we shared. He was a gentleman with a sense of humor
    about his stump. Very sorry to hear of his passing.
